We hinted that we had discovered information about a site opposite the airfield (on the west side of Tollerton Lane) and here’s where we back that statement up.
Our archivist has dug deeper and found a plan of RAF buildings on what is now Hill Farm/the dog training centre. This is the location where a previous owner (post WW2) kept a steam train (but, I’m told, it didn’t have any tracks to run on).
Have a look at what these documents reveal, ask your older friends and relatives if this information rings any bells. We’re sure there’s a bigger story to tell than just some architectural drawings!
