On 10th March 2026, the same 6 RBC councillors who rejected (on 13th January) the supplementary planning document will sit down to discuss it again, prior to approving it.
If they do approve it but the SPD still has critical pieces of decision-making information missing? Well, if they do that, we shall lodge a Judicial Review in the King’s Bench Division of the High Court.
A Judicial Review is the next step in the process of preventing a flawed planning process from approving over 4,000 homes being built on unsafe and unsuitable land. We would not take this – very serious – legal step lightly. But if RBCs councillors do approve a flawed SPD (even if they approve it with planning caveats where bits of information are provided further down the line), the law says we can take them to the High Court to get their decision overturned.
A Judicial Review is a costly business, so to help us pay our legal bill, we are launching a series of fundraising activities. The first stream* in this appeal is for general support for our legal action.
Our supporters can become Lifetime Supporters of SNAG by making a donation to our cause. Lifetime Supporters will receive our thanks and a couple of tokens of our appreciation through their letterbox.
