This Saturday, 21st March 2026, SNAG are holding their first fundraising event (more about why we are doing this, in a minute). The fundraising event will be held at The Scout Hut, Tollerton (right next to St Peter’s Church), and will run from 10.30 – 13.00.
What’s going on at the fundraiser?
Live music, a tombola, raffle, free things for kids to do, live music, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cakes, and biscuits (and soft drinks, naturally). Also, the Keyworth Historical Society will have a stall – they produced the wonderful book about the airfield we are fighting so hard to protect – so it’ll be a good opportunity to ask them questions!
Why are SNAG having a fundraiser?
You’re probably aware that in January, Rushcliffe Borough Council wisely decided not to approve the flawed and incomplete supplementary planning document (SPD)? Well, last week the same Rushcliffe Borough Council approved the same SPD with the same flaws and the same incompleteness (all of the missing information was still actually… missing). This is, obviously, a bad decision on top of a bad document. So we have instructed our lawyers to begin the application for a Judicial Review, to bring all of these substandard pieces before the High Court in London. And this is why we are now raising funds, to support our legal fight and to bring Rushcliffe Borough Council to a place of scrutiny. The legal advice before us is, based on all of the evidence collected, we have a very strong case. And this is why we are having a fundraiser.
Hope to see you there!
