Today was protest day 3 and this one was held outside County Hall. We got a lot of attention. Richard Butler – who, as well as being a Nottinghamshire County Councillor is also the chair of the Rushcliffe Borough Council Planning Committee – was among us, as were several hopeful councillor candidates.
The protest was well attended, around 30 of us stood on the County Hall steps waving banners, shouting slogans, and being interviewed by local and national media. Notts TV sent along their News crew. Byline Times sent along Brian McHugh. Both media organisations spent time, care and attention getting their interviews right.
The article written by Brian McHugh will be in the next print edition of Byline Times, but it appeared on their website within a few hours of the demo. You can read it here.
We shall, of course, continue with demonstrations, but the success of today will send reverberations around the corridors of Vistry/Bovis Homes for some time.
